Amanda E. Nini
Before joining the firm in April of 2019, Ms. Nini was an Assistant Prosecutor at the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office in Trenton, New Jersey. Ms. Nini worked as an Assistant Prosecutor for four and a half years in various units including the Grand Jury Unit, Appellate Unit, Trial Unit, Megan’s Law Unit, and Special Victims Unit. Ms. Nini also independently supervised three different units as the Chief of the Forfeiture Unit, the Expungement Unit, and the founding Chief of the Humane Law Enforcement Unit, which was created in 2018 due to a change in the law regarding the investigation and prosecution of animal cruelty cases. During her time in the Trial Unit, Ms. Nini prosecuted a wide variety of crimes and successfully tried four cases to verdict, obtaining guilty verdicts in each. Ms. Nini also represented the State in appeals before the Superior Court of New Jersey, Appellate Division and the Supreme Court of New Jersey. Outside of the courtroom, Ms. Nini provided legal advice to law enforcement officers throughout the County by teaching cadets at the Mercer County Police Academy and providing on-call advice and legal analysis to detectives seeking to obtain search warrants and communications data warrants. Ms. Nini also had the privilege of completing various investigative training programs including the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Computer Analysis Response Team’s (CART) computer forensics training as well as the Top Gun (Class 54) training regarding gangs, firearms, and narcotics presented by the New Jersey Division of Criminal Justice, the County Prosecutors’ Association of New Jersey, and the County Narcotics Commanders’ Association.
Before her tenure at the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office, Ms. Nini worked as an associate attorney for Mason, Griffin & Pierson, P.C. in Princeton, New Jersey where her practice focused on representing local governments.
Prior to becoming a practicing attorney, Ms. Nini served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Robert C. Billmeier and the Honorable Thomas M. Brown in the Mercer County Superior Court, Criminal Division, in Trenton, New Jersey. During her clerkship, Ms. Nini performed legal research and analyzed complex pre-trial motions, both testimonial and non-testimonial, regarding potential constitutional violations and the suppression of evidence. Ms. Nini also evaluated petitions for post-conviction relief, drafted judicial opinions, and assisted with novel legal issues that arose during trials. In addition to these assignments, Ms. Nini also managed tier classification hearings to assist with classifying sex offenders subject to Megan’s Law.
Ms. Nini received a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology with a concentration in legal studies from Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. Upon graduating, Ms. Nini attended the Thomas R. Kline School of Law at Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. During law school, Ms. Nini completed Drexel’s co-operative learning program by working for the Honorable Pedro J. Jimenez, Jr. in the Mercer County Superior Court, Criminal Division, in Trenton, New Jersey. During her time in law school, Ms. Nini also worked as a teaching assistant for Introduction to Trial Advocacy, and received a pro bono service honors award for the amount of pro bono hours she accumulated as a law student.
Ms. Nini is admitted to practice law in New Jersey, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the United States Federal Court for the District of New Jersey, and the Third Circuit Court of Appeals. She is also a member of the Mercer County Bar Association.
